Conditional sentence are sentences used to indicate a
personal opinion in showing his/her prediction.
1. Future
Conditional (Conditional Type 1)
This
conditional expresses that something many happen or probably occurs in the
future or even now when a certain condition/requirement is fulfilled.
Conditional type 1 is formed by putting simple
present as the sub-clause
If
+ subject 1 + present + subject 2 + (will, can, may, must) + verb 1
Examples:
1.
If I
have much money, I will buy a plane.
2.
If it
doesn’t rain tonight, I will invite you to see a movie.
3.
If I
have two hand phones, I will give you one.
4.
If my
brother not cries, my mother cans happy.
5.
If I’m
rich, I can buy apartment.
6.
Mother
will not give you a present if you are lazy.
7.
If my
scores bad, I must studious.
8.
If my
arm not sick, I can cook.
9.
If my
hand phone not lost, I can call you.
10.
If I
have car, I can around Solo with my family.
2. Present
Conditional (Conditional Type 2)
This
conditional expresses a hope or an expectation that contradicts to what is
happening now or in the future. Conditional type 2 is formed by putting the simple past as the sub-clause, and past future as the main clause.
If
+ subject 1+ simple past + subject 2+ (would, could, might) + Verb 1 / be
Examples:
1.
If my
sister had the money, she would buy a Ferrari.
2.
If I found her address, I would send her an
invitation.
3.
If I had a lot of money, I wouldn’t stay
here.
4.
If I were you, I would not do this.
5.
If he had a lot of money, he would be traveling around the world.
6.
If I were free, I would be watching the movie.
7.
If the music were better, everybody would be dancing.
8.
I would be having a good time if I met my friends.
9.
If you miss me, I could stay with you.
10. If my hair longer, I would fell beautiful.
3. Past Conditional (Conditional Type 3)
This conditional expresses a hope or an
expectation that contradicts to what already happened in the past. Conditional
typen3 is formed by putting pas perfect
as the sub-clause, and past future
perfect as the main clause.
If + subject 1 + Verb 3/ been + subject 2 +
(would, could, might) + have verb 3 /been
Examples:
1.
If I had had much money, I would have bought
a car.
2.
If we had found him earlier we could have
saved his life.
3.
If you
had remembered to invite me, I would have attended your party.
4.
If the
waitress had been careful, she wouldn’t have broke many plates.
5.
If you had come to my house last night, you would have met my family.
6.
You
would not have missed the train if you had come early yesterday.
7.
I
could have done the exam this morning if I had studied last night.
8.
If she
had not been sick yesterday, she could have come to the party.
9.
If I had had two hand phones, I would give
you one.
10.
If it hadn’t rained last night, I would have
invited you to see a movie.
