Causative Word

Causative is sentence pattern the meaning of which is that someone or something brings about or causes an action or a state. There are two main patterns of causative, active causative and passive causative. In active causative we are saying that a subject causes somebody or something to do something. While in passive causative we are saying that subject experiences an event or action.

Example:

1.      Have
a.       I had someone cut my hair.
b.      I have my sister water the flowers.
c.       I have my brother go to the market.
d.      My brother has me take him to school.
e.       My mother has me wash clothes.
f.       I had washed my motorcycle by my brother.
g.      I have fill beat by my friend.
h.      I had buy drink by my sister.

j.        My father has take ashtray by me.

2.      Make
a.       I make my sister sleep.
b.      My sister always makes my brother wash the car.
c.       The man made the girls tell the truth.
d.      The robber made the teller give the money.
e.       My mother made me eat durian.
f.       The teacher made leave the room by Lia.
g.      My parents made marry by me.
h.      I make get up in the morning by her.

3.      Let
a.       I let his go to Bandung.
b.      They let the children play in the yard.
c.       My mother let me go to Jakarta.
d.      My sister let my brother cried.
e.       My friend let me walk alone.
f.       I let play game alone by my brother.
g.      The man let go to her grandmother house by the girl.
h.      Sarah let enter her room by my sister.

Reported Speech



Reported Speech is when you tell somebody else what you or a person said before.

a.       Direct Speech and Indirect speech
Direct Speech is spoken sentence directly from the speaker, sentence they have not changed or added.

Indirect Speech is a phrase that comes from direct sentences that tell back in another form.

Example :
1.      She  said, “ I had to quickly graduated”.
She said that she had to quickly graduated.
2.      He says, “ the chicken soup is very delicious”.
He says that the chicken soup is very delicious.
3.      Dodo said,” this is my pencil”.
Dodo said that this was his pencil.
4.      Toni said,” my brother comes Bandung”.
Toni said that his brother came Bandung.
5.      My sister said,” I want go to Sragen tomorrow”.
My sister said she was would go to Sragen tomorrow.
6.      My sister told me,” close the window “!
My sister told me to close the window !
7.      Lia said,” I am so tired”.
Lia said that she was so tired.
8.      My father said to me,” I don’t like coffee”.
My father said to me that he didn’t like coffee.
9.      My mother said,” I have eaten cake now”.
My mother said that she had eating a cake now.
10.  They said,” we have watched boxing”.
They said that they had watched boxing.



b.      Yes No Question is question is answered with a yes or no. This questions begins with auxiliary ( is, am, are, was, were, do, does, did, have, has, bad ) and modals (can, may, must, should, shall, will, could, or would).

Example:
1.      Do you like football?
2.      Are you tired?
3.      Can you meet me tomorrow?
4.      Will you marry me?
5.      Have they taken a bath?
6.      Should we listen to me?
7.      Do you know the Kuta Beach?
8.      Can you help my mother?
9.      Will you go to with me?
10.  Are you hate her?


c.       Informative questions is ask questions ask for any words.

Example :
1.    Who ate my cake?
2.    What happened with you?
3.    When you arrived in Bali?
4.    Where do we dinner?
5.    Why did she get cry?
6.    Why did you not go to school?
7.    Where did you buy those shoes?
8.    How you spell your name?
9.    What are you doing now?
10.    When you married?


d.      Imperative 
 You can use the imperative to give instructions, commands, advice or to invite.

Example:
1.      Don’t noisy !
2.      Don’t go anywhere !
3.      Please, do your homework !
4.      Please, came be ontime !
5.      Please, wash your car !
6.      Don’t lazy !
7.      Don’t touch my computer !
8.      Don’t borrow my hand phone !
9.      Don’t eat pineapple !
10.  Don’t buy clothes !
